Microsoft has announced that it is changing the names of its subscriptions for small and medium-sized businesses. IT Foundations have summarised these recent Microsoft 365 name changes.
From April 21st 2020, your subscription will now be called Microsoft 365. Microsoft has chosen to drop the ‘Office 365’ brand to show that it offers so much more than the Office apps we use each day.
Right now, it is just a product name change. Microsoft has not announced any changes to features, or more importantly, pricing. This means you will still receive the same features and functionality you already have.
These name changes will take place automatically, there is not anything required from your business to enable this. You will notice these changes on your IT Foundations invoicing, as we will soon be updating these to reflect on the recent changes.
With the name change already taking place, now would be a good time to check which Microsoft 365 subscription your business is currently using and whether or not it is the best option for your business needs. IT Foundations recommends Microsoft 365 Business Premium as a minimum for our customers.
Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes all of Microsoft 365 core services as well as cloud services, desktop apps and advanced security. If you would like to discuss your Microsoft licensing options, then please contact us and will be able to advise you on your requirements.
